RATEPAYERS’ ASSOCIATION
FORMATION AT TAKAPUNA The necessity for the formation of a ratepayers’ and residents* association in the western area of Takapuna has been recognised for some time, but it was not until the erection of a destructor, and the accompanying nuisance, that anything was done, and a meeting was held in St. Joseph’s Orphanage, Takapuna, on Thursday. A large number of ratepayers were present, and Mr. J. Collins explained the objects of the association. Mr. J. C. Blomfield was elected president, and Mrs. CJ. Maxwell,, lion, secretary and treasurer. The association decided to do all in its power to get rid of the destructor, and to gain for the area behind the lake the recognition it deserves.
