WAITEMATA COUNTY
TOUR OF INSPECTION The decision that members of the Waitemata County Council, accompanied by the county officers, should make a tour of inspection of the county, was made at a meeting of the council yesterday. The tour was suggested by the chairman, Mr. L. E. Kerr-Taylor, and it is intended that it should be made by motor-car and occupy two days, during which the various works in the county could be inspected. The date was left in the hands of the engineer, Mr. A. Murray, and probably the trip will be made about the ‘ middle c.f June. Advice was received from the Public Works Department that the council’s allocation for the current year had been fixed at £5,365, which was £65 less than last year. About £550 therefore was available for each riding which had money to subsidise • the grant. During the month 15 building permits to the value of £7,855 had been issued.
