Autumn Flowers In Gay Colours BRIGHT DANCE PARTY Mr. and Mrs. A. Houlds worth, of Grey Street East, Onehunga, entertained a number of friends at their home last evening, when a delightful time was spent with competitions, dancing and several items, which were contributed by Captain Gibbons, Messrs. G. Bennett, Marks, Pikesly and E. Sutherland. The party was given in honour of their niece, Miss Peggy Cuting who is celebrating her 21st birthday. Autumn flowers and foliage added colour to the rooms, and the supper room was charmingly decorated in a scheme of pink and silver. A delicate pastel shade of pink had been chosen by the young guest of honour for her frock, which had a slimly-fitting bodice of chenille allied to a frilled skirt of palest blush pink tulle, dipping at one side and lifting slightly to the waist, where it finished in a trailing tulle bow. A touch of silver in the rose shoulder posy completed the pretty toilette, and the wearer carried a little sheaf of roseshaded cyclamen. Mrs. Houlds worth’s tiered frock was composed of crocus mauve taffeta, with a corsage of shaded frisette. Mrs. T. Cutting was wearing a stamped velvet frock of flame colour. Mrs. Osborne was in crepe faille, carried out in black and white. Miss Osborne wore a lilac figure crepella frock. Mrs. Larkman was wearing a frilled frock of beige georgette mounted on peach-pink, with a trailing shoulder spray of rose. IN CHINESE BLUE Mrs. H. Bray’s Chinese blue frock was of chenille georgette. Mrs. L. Bray wore a deep blue crepe frock and an embroidered shawl. Mrs. A. McLeod’s crepe de chine frock was of coral pink. Mrs. Marks was wearing a pebble-grey crepe fleuri frock, patterned in green and gold. Mrs. Kirk Jones wore a black georgette frock. Mrs. H. Wood was in black chantilly lace. Mrs. J. Ross was wearing a crepe fleuri frock of naples blue. Mrs. McDonald’s georgette frock was of royal blue. Mrs. C. Turnbull wore over her begonia georgette frock a bridge coatee of black velvet. Mrs. R. Buchanan’s frock was of black lace over gold tissue. Mrs. Hyauiason wore a ring velvet frock of moonlight blue and a chenille shawl. Mrs. G. Dixon was wearing a black and gold brocaded frock. Mrs. Straw’s frock of black marocain had touches of mauve relief. Mrs. R. Wilson wore a pistasche green crepe de chine frock. Mrs. G. Laing was wearing a frock of black broche satin, embossed in gold and art shades. Mrs. G. Herbert’s frock of cameo pink georgette was beaded in crystal.
