ENJOYING SICK LEAVE

WINDOW-CLEANER’S STRANGE BEHAVIOUR Jumping up and down in front of a Herne Bay tram last evening resulted in the appearance of Charles William Jarvis at the Police Court this morning on a charge of being disorderly while drunk on College Hill last evening. Jarvis', a window-cleaner, aged 25 pleaded guilty, and Sub-Inspector McCarthy, enlightened tfie Court as to what had constituted the man’s disorderly behaviour. Asked by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., whether he was working or not, Jarvis said that he was on sick leave. The Magistrate: Seems a peculiar way to spend sick leave —getting drunk. Jarvis was fined £2. and the magistrate offered to give the man time to find the money. “I don’t want to send you up above,” he said.
