Sue Wall (a half-caste Chinese) was brought before the Chief Justice in the Supreme Court for trial on a charge of stealing a purse and contents valued at £2O Bs. Miss Edith Stewart said that she called at accused’s fruit shop at Island Bay and left her purse by mistake. She called again, but accused led her to believe that another customer had taken it.
