THIEVING AT DOMAIN

RUGBY PLAYERS COMPLAIN UNION SYMPATHETIC Bitter complaints of thieving from the dressing-rooms at the Domain were received by the Rugby Union management committee last evening from members of the Otahuhu Club. The union secretary, Mr. W. Maben, reminded the meeting that it was by no means the first occasion on which there had been complaints and that this time the club was unwilling to play on the Domain until something had been done. It was agreed that Mr. A. Tilly wait on the Parks Committee and at the same time make a request for improved lighting facilities. “I have seen better lighting in cowsheds,” said Mr. Tilly. “The place is fitted with gas jets, but there are no burners and the flame leaps about two feet in the air. The council can run to an electric installation when there is anything special on and it should be possible to do it for us. Surely the council gets sufficient revenue from the grounds.”
