PAPAKURA REQUESTS
DEPUTATIONS TO HON. G. W. FORBES The Hon. G. W. Forbes. Minister o! Lands and Agriculture, received a deputation from the Papakura Tovn Board yesterday. Tho chairman, Mr. James McCall, asked that legislation be introduced providing for the classification of fans lands in town districts being made by the Assessment Court instead of th? board. Tho Minister said he approved of the principle. A request was made for a grant o! £ 100 for Kirk’s Bush Reserve for drainage purposes. The Minister promised to see if anything could be done to meet the request. The Minister promised a deputation from the Papakura Chamber of Commerce, who asked that the duplication of the railway line from Papatoetoe to Papakura be proceeded with at once instead of in three years, that h» would place the request before the Minister- of Railways.
