MORNINGSIDE ASSAULT
RETRIAL OF O’CONNOR YOUNG WOMAN ATTACKED Accused of having brutally struck a young woman on the head with a piece of galvanised iron piping while she was walking home along the Western Springs Ttoad, Morningside, about 9 p.m. on March 28, Bertram Augustine O’Connor stood his second trial in the Supreme Court, before Mr. Justice Herdman, today. He was charged with assault, with intent to commit grievous bodily harm. T>lr. V. R. Meredith, Crown Prosecutor. conducted the prosecution, and Mr. Noble appeared for accused.
