DUCKS AND PHEASANTS
OPENING OF SEASON GAME PLENTIFUL The shooting season in the Auckland Acclimatisation Society’s district opens to-morrow. Ducks are reported to be plentiful everywhere in the district; in fact, there are more than ever before, according to the society’s secretary, Mr. G. M. Gordon. Reports show that pheasants are also plentiful and quail are numerous. The -season for ducks, mallard and will ciose on Julie- 46, and for pheasants and quail on June 30Many hands of sportsmen have left Auckland in order to be ready for the opening of the season. The Hobson acclimatisation district will be opened on June 1, continuing until July 31, The society has issued a notice regarding game in freezers, which states that all game must be removed within seven days after the close of the open season. A number of formalities are also made clear in the circular.
