“COWARDLY ACTION”

YOUNG GIRL ASSAULTED HUNTLY MINER FINED £5 (Prom Our Own Correspondent) HUNTLY, To-da3*. Characterising the action as a cowardly one, and promptly declining an application for the suppression of accused’s name, the Bench fined Thomas Burt, a miner, aged 39. of Huntly, £5 and costs at the ITuntly Police Court to-day for an aggravated assault on a girl, aged 11 years, at Rangiriri. Default was fixed at one month’s imprisonment. Senior-Constable Ingram stated the prisoner was a bird of passage and had nothing to lose.
