EXOTIC PLANTS
DANGER ON RANGITOTO At yesterday’s meeting of the council of the Auckland Institute and Museum is was decided to recommend that the Rangitoto Domain Board erect a notice near the wharf cautioning visitors against bringing or planting seeds of exotic plants. The growth of exotic plants on Rangitoto has been the subject of correspondence between the council and the Rangitoto Domain Board. A letter was received froih the board stating that it was alive to the importance of preserving the original growth of native trees and plants. It had already done work in the removal of exotics, and would be glad to receive | suggestions from the institute.
