NEED FOR STATISTICAL RECORDS SECRET RETURNS SUGGESTED (From Our Resident Reporter) WELLINGTON. To-day. The utter Jack of statistical information relative to Stock Exchange in New Zealand is exercising the secretary of the Wellington Exchange, Mr. C. W. Carroll, and he is urging that this should remedied. Stockbrokers are reluctant to giveinformation to rival brokers, but Mr. Carroll proposes that each week a secret return of stocks sold «hall be made by each broker. every precaution being taken to guard the information. and that a monthly statement of the turnover of ’Change shall be made.
