LANDMARK BURNED
FIRE AT ONEHUNGA OLD BUILDING DESTROYED The upper portion of an old building at the foot of Norman Hill Road, near the Onehunga beach, was completely gutted by fire shortly after one o’clock this morning. The house was art old landmark, and had been unoccupied for some time, but had been used latterly as a boardinghouse. In the early days, when Norman Hi! was the main road to the city, it was a well-known hostelry. The fire had a good hold before tlv alarm was given, but the brigade waable to save a considerable portion of the lower storey Th® house was owned by Mrs. Watts, but the amount of the insurance is not yc* known.
