HAURAKI PLAINS COMPETITION The two leading teams in the Hauraki Plains Cricket Association's in-ter-club competition met at Ngatea on Saturday last in the first of the two-day match for the championship. Kopuarahi established a strong lead by knocking up 114 to Xgatea’s 48. These are lower scores than have been recorded for some time. The day was showery and the pitch very wet. A. McMillan, a young Ivopuarahi player, was top scorer with 56 not out, and C. Laurence made 2G, while for Ngatea A. Burt made 20 and S. Donaghy 10. Gill, of Kopuarahi, took six for 29, C. Laurence, 2 for 15 and L. Candy 2 for 14, while for Xgatea S. Phillips took 6 lor 26, A Burt, 2 for 31, W. O'Xeil 1 for 34 and W. Chappell 1 for 15. Tho match will be concluded at Kopuarahi on Saturday next.
