ST. JAMES

GEORGE WALLACE’S REVUE This week's revue presented by George Wallace and his clever company at the St. James Theatre delighted the crowded audience again on Saturday evening. For the motif of the piece, entitled “Moon Beams,’’ Wallace has delved into the realms of Jules Verne. He stages a trip to the moon. With comedy predominating, the show swings along at a fast pace throughout, and the staging and dressing are excellent. Marshall Crosby shares the honours with "Wallace, and both in character sketches and straight song numbers he registers strongly. His song, “Lighterman Tom,” was very well received on Saturday. Marie Nyman was well to the fore and received warm applause for her “Just For To-night,” sung with George Wallace. Others who do well are Maida Jones and Jack Scott in a number of specialty dances, the Two Dudleys. Si’ Meredith and Jim Romaine. A number of new selections are played by the smart stage band, with George Wallace at the head. Two of the best numbers are a. trombone solo by Miff Myers, and a specially accompanied soft shoe dance by Olive Partridge and Thelma Buxton. The Six Rascals are a fast-stepping and goodlooking ballet team.
