SWEPT OFF ROCKS
MAORI YOUTH DROWNED
BODY NOT RECOVERED Press Association TAURAXGA, To-day. While gathering shell-fish on the rocks on the ocean side of Mount Maunganui yesterday, a native lad, Te Kani, aged 19 years, was swept off the rocks and drowned. The body has not been recovered. MAORI THOUGHT DROWNED PUNT ALSO DISAPPEARS Press Association WAIROA, To-day. A well known Maori. Harry Butterfly. is believed to have been drowned at Wairoa Heads early on Sunday morning. 110 attempted to cross iii a punt, but neither the boat nor the occupant have been seen since. A boot and a stocking were found at the landing.
