DANCE PARTY

I A delightful dance was held at St. : Luke’s Hall, Mount Albert, on Saturday, the hostesses for the evening being Mrs: U. Weaver and Miss A. Wilj liams. The hall was prettily decorated with multi-coloured streamers and coloured \ lights and the gaily-coloured caps dis- | tributed among the guests added to the gaiety of the scene. BRIDE-ELECT HONOURED In honour of her approaching marriage to Mr. C. Turner. Miss Mary Jones was the guest of honour at a social evening held in the Hibernian ITail at Maungawhare on Friday evening. Over 100 friends and well-wishers attended. During the evening Miss Jones was presented with various tokens of esteem from institutions of the Sacred Heart parish, with which she has been connected for a number of years. On behalf of the parishioners Mr. A. J. Martin, in presenting Miss Jones with a set of cutlery, spoke of the ready assistance which the recipient had always been pleased to render to any parish activity. He wished her every happiness. Mr. Martin presented Miss .Jones with a travelling rug on behalf of the Hibernian Society. The guest of the evening was further honoured by the Sodality of Mary. Nliss Eva Robinson, the president, presenting her with a beautiful statuette of the Virgin Mary. Nliss Jones is a past president of the society. Mr. F. A. Jones replied on behalf of his daughter. During the evening items were contributed by Mrs. O. Olsen and Miss V. Bennett. The Lyric Orchestra contributed the dance music.
