MR. ALFRED H. WHITEHOUSE Mr. Alfred H. Whitehouse, who died at the Knox Home, Tamaki, this week, was the son of Mr. Abel Whitehouse, an early colonist. He travelled con-, siderably and during a visit to the United States met Mr. Thomas A. Edison, the famous inventor, and brought "back a phonograph to the Dominion, being the first man to introduce one to this country. He had been an inmate of the home for 10 years.
