Mount Albert Bowling The Mount Albert Bowling Club's tournament has been won by Gordon (Carlton), with five outright wins. Empire Service League Cabinet has approved of a grant to defray the expenses of Sir Andrew Russell, who will attend the fourth biennial conference of the British Kpmire Service League in London, on behalf of the Xew Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association. Mother’s Dementia A child of four years, named Mickell, was on Thursday drowned in a bath at Otoki. An at inquest, a verdict that the child was drowned by the mother while of unsound mind was returned. Sale of Paintings The exhibition of painting organised by the Xew Zealand artist. Mr. J. D. Perrett, was sold by auction on Thursday afternoon. Almost all the pictures were sold, many of them bringing good prices. The best picture of the exhibition, the “English Landscape,” by John Glover, is not yet sold, but it is understood that negotiations are in progress for its sale to an Auckland collector.
