“A GIRL IN EVERY PORT”
“A Girl in Every Port,” one of the most original sea stories ever filmed, is now showing at the Empire Theatre. Besides carrying with it all of the glamour and romance of the sea, it is filled with thrills and comedy situations, and lia'k the unusual distinction of eight leading women, one for each port. Victor McLaglen, of “What Price Glory?” fame, is featured in the leading role, with Robert Armstrong as his chief support physically and artistically throughout the picture. The second attraction is entitled “If I Were Single,” an uproarious comedy of matrimonial differences, with a cast headed by May McAvoy and Conrad Nagel. Production has been so satisfactorily rapid on “Show Boat” that Harry Pollard now anticipates completing this Edna Berber story by the end of the year. Its two years of popularity have made it the outstanding theatrical property of the last ten years.
