BUTTER MARKET STAGNANT
(Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.55 a m. LONDON, Thursday. The butter market is stagnant. Colonial butter has maintained its price®, and Danish is quoted at 2025. Cheese is dull and unchanged. New Zealand butter is meeting with a steady inejuiry in London, says a cablegram to the Bank of New Zealand from its London office. At the close of last week's business, prices ranged from 182 s to 186 s a cwt. Cheese sales have been quiet. White is bringing 97s to 98s, and coloured 993 to 100 s. Mutton and beef sales have been steady generally. Prices: Wethers, light. 6d to 7d a lb; heavy. 5d to Sd a lb; ewes, 4d to 5d a lb; lambs, twos, 9£d to 92d a lb; eights, 9}d to 9£d a lb: fours, 9d to Old a lb: seconds. 7£d to Sd a lb; ox hinds, 4Jd to 43d a lb: ox fores, 32d to 4d a !b; cow hinds, 4d to 41d a lb: cow fores, 3id to 3Jd a lb.
