MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED
T ~ ? (Special to THE SUN) NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. Hearing a crash on Sunday morning, Mr. W. H. Lander rushed outside his home and discovered a school-teacher, Mr. George Tika Leith Smith, lying fatally injured on Frankley Road. His motor-cycle had apparently skidded. Mr. Smith was taken to hospital suffering from a broken collar-bone and a fractured skull, but died some hours later. He was a single man. An inquest opened yesterday was adjourned after formal evidence of identification had been given.
