VARIED ATTRACTIONS IN CITY WIDE CHOICE OFFERED The thousands of visitors to Auckland during the next few days will not be able to complain of lack of variety iri the numerous diversions offering. A wide choice is available. The principal attraction will no doubt be the racing and trotting meetings at Ellerslie and Epsom. To-day the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting opened at Ellerslie and will be continued on Friday and the following Tuesday and "Wednesday. To-morrow and on Saturday and Monday the Auckland Trotting Club’s summer meeting will be held at Alexandra Park. The New Zealand tennis championships at the Stanley Street Courts and the Auckland bowling tournament, both of which are to commence to-day, will also prove popular attractions. Also set down to commence at the Domain to-day is a junior representative cricket match between Auckland and Wellington, and also a match between the Auckland and Wellington Suburban Association teams. The principal fixtures during the holidays are as follow: To-day—Ellerslie races; cricket at Eden Park and Domain; tennis championships; bowling tourney; Municipal Band concert at Zoological Park (afternoon); Dixieland Cabaret (afternoon and evening); Luna Park; excursion to Waiheke, 9.50 a.m.; Pirate Ship Cabaret at Milford (evening). To-morrow—Trots at Alexandra Park; cricket at Eden Park and Domain; tennis championships; bowling tourney; boxing in Town Hall (McInnes v. McDonald). Friday—Ellerslie races; tennis championships; bowling tourney. Saturday—Trots at Alexandra Park; tennis championships; bowling tourney. December 31—Trots at Alexandra Park; tennis championships finals. January I—Ellerslie races. January 2 —Ellerslie races.
