Three Seriously Hurt When Cars Collide
RACE PARTY’S CRASH BOTH VEHICLES WRECKED (From Our Otcn Correspondentj MORRINSVILLE, To-day. Three people were seriously injured and two motor-cars wrecked in a collision at a bend in the road near Morrinsville on Saturday evening. Those injured were: MR. CLIFF BROADFOOT. of Waihi. fractured shoulder, concussion of the brain, crushed fingers and cuts and bruises. Condition critical. MR. JOHN HICKS. Galbraith Street, Waihi, serious concussion, severe wounds on head and face, and injured shoulder. MR. WALTER TANNER, Waihi, fractured arm and severe cuts caused by broken wind-screen. A seven-seater car driven by Mr. W Tanner and containing Mr. and ilrs. Eric Radford, Miss P. Wallnut, y r. John Hicks. Air. C. Broadfoot, an d Mr. Richard Warner, all of Waihi. returning from the Waikato trots Hamilton about 9 o'clock on Saturday evening. At a bend in the road near Morrinsville a collision occurred with a new sedan car driven »7 Mr. William Munro, garage proprietor, Cambridge. Both cars were wrecked and the Occupants of Mr. Tanner's car were •ujured as referred to above. The other passengers escaped injury, also I driver of the other car Dr. Craig, of Morrinsville, rendered “Nt aid and the injured were then oxen by ambulance to the Waihi Bespital. Mr. Broadfoot is a well-known amaur boxer and is a brother of Mr. ® Broadfoot. the Auckland middlee*ght. Mr. Warner is also an ama‘•Ur boxer.
