OUTRAGED GIRL SIGNS PETITION TO AID PRISONER
Reed. 9.42 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. Over 300 residents oc Woy Woy signed a petition asking that the death sentence passed on Martin Jacobsen for a capital offence on a girl be reviewed. Public indignation has been aroused over the sentence. Jacobsen was formerly engaged to the girl, who was among the first to sign the petition. Public meetings were held in the town, and feeling ran high. It is said new evidence will he available if the case is reopened.
