BUDGET PRESENTED HEALTHY REVENUE DISCLOSED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) WASHINGTON. Tuesday. The President. Mr. Coolidge, to-day submitted the 1029-30 Budget to Congress. The estimated receipts are £768,200.000 and the expenditure £756.000.000. The largest items of expenditure are £119,400,000 for the war veterans’ bureau; £69,800,000 for the Navy Department; and £88,800,000 for the War Department. The President said that whereas it had been feared that the year 1928-29 would show a deficit of £18,800,000 it was now estimated that there would bo a surplus for that year of £7,200. This was due to the fact that the returns from revenue were larger than was expected.
