VISIT TO BIRTHPLACE MR. JENKINS AT ELTHAM Press Association ELTHAM, To-day. Mr. H. K. Jenkins, M.P. for Parnell, was accorded a civic reception here this morning:. Mr. Jenkins was the first white child born in the district, and spent his early life in Eltham. The Mayor, Mr. Bridger. presided, and speeches of congratulation to the guest on his election to Parliament were made by Mr. Bridger, Sir W. C. F. Carncross. Speaker of the Legislative Council, Mr. C. A Wilkinson, M.P. for Egmont, and Mr. McGuinness, deputychairman of the County Council. Mr. Jenkins expressed gratification at the heartiness of his reception and returned thanks for the congratulations.
