POWER BOARD MEMBERS LEAVE AREA TO BE INVESTIGATED The Waitemata Electric - Power Board held one of the briefest meetings on record this morning, business being disposed of within eight minutes. Mr. J; W. Hayden was in the chair. Members of the board then set out on a complete tour of the board’s area, the journey being undertaken by motor-cars. Every phase of the board’s activities will be investigated by members and numerous deputations have been arranged to enable matters to be discussed with settlers and others in the farming and township districts. The first call to be made this morning was at the City Council’s waterworks at Tltirangi, after which the party was to proceed to the Hobsonville air base, where it is anticipated a large supply of electricity will be required in IJie near future. After the base had been inspected members would be entertained at luncheon. During the afternoon Huapai, Kuiueu, Waimauku and Helensville will be visited, the party staying at the latter place to-night. Kaukapakapa. Waiwera and other parts of the northern section will be visited tomorrow', the return to Auckland being made in the evening, via Takapuna. A meeting of the board will be held at Helensville to-night, when the engineer’s report, postponed from this morning, will be considered.
