Boy Swimmer Fails to Reach Rocks
FATALITY AT SUMNER MINISTER’S SON DROWNED Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. Cyril Campbell Armour, aged 15, second son of the Rev. T. W. Armour, was drowned at Sumner on Saturday afternoon. Evidently He went for a swim at the boat harbour and was unable to get back v *>n the rocks because of weakness. The boy went to Sumner with his mother and other members of the family. He was last seen alive at 4 p.m. Search parties were out all day yesterday, but no trace was found until toward the evening, when fishermen reported they had seen an object among the boulders at Whitewash Head. A boat was then sent out and the body discovered. One leg was broken at the thigh. DROWNED IN RIVER FATE OF WOMAN BATHER t+e •5 Association DUNEDIN, To-day. Zella Watts, aged 19, employed in tea rooms at Alexandra, was drowned while bathing on Saturday in a pool in a stream forming part of the Molyneaux River. BODY FOUND IN RIVER BOY MISSING A WEEK Press Association GISBORNE, To-day. The body of Samuel Walker, aged 16, who had been missing from a farm at Puha since Monday last was found in a river near a dangerous ford which he had attempted to cross in search of straying cows. Deceased had arrived from Ireland only 11 weeks ago.
