RECORD FOR THE FIXTURE

TAKINGS COMPARED

Record gate-takings for the two days of the fixture was the satisfactory result of the Auckland Jubilee Show. Excluding the takings for the Royal Show held at Auckland in 1926. the total for the fixture, £1,003, was the largest in the 75 years of the show’s history. This year there was an increased attendance on the first day and People's Day (£846) was only a few pounds lower than last year’s total of £ 854, which was a record for that day. RABBITSKIN SALES At the London rabbitskin sales there was a large attendance of buyers, including many from the Continent. Bucks were neglected, but there was keen competition for all other .sorts. Furriers’ best advanced 5 per cent., medium 10 per cent., pulled sorts 5 per cent., unpulled 15 per cent., and hares 5 to 10 per cent. HIDE MARKET FIRM WELLINGTON SALE (Prom Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. At the fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow the market generally was buoyant. The recent improvement in the wool market was reflected in the prices ruling for sheepskins, which were hjgher by fully £d a lb for dry full wools and approximately 6d each for salteds. Heavy ox hides were very firm at late sale rates and medium weights advanced Id to Id a lb.
