DEATH OF MR. F. J. PEAKE

SECRETARY OF N.Z. CRICKET COUNCIL POPULAR RUGBY REFEREE Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. To-day. The death has occurred suddenly of John F. Peake, aged 49, secretary ot the New Zealand Cricket Council for the past 14 years, and a former well-known Rugby referee. Death is believed to be due to heart failure. He leaves a widow and a young son and daughter. As a cricketer he had a good' record in Otago as a member of the Albion S lu w- a P < Li n Canterbury as a number of West Christchurch Club. He came north from Otago in 1905.
