TENNIS TEST MATCH
BEGINS ON SATURDAY BIG GAME AT AUCKLAND The Dominion representatives to play against the touring English team at Stanley Street will be selected tomorrow night. The three selectors are Messrs. E. L. Bartleet (Auckland), G. Ollivier (Canterbury), and D. M. Kean (Wellington). The match will commence at Stanley Street courts on Saturday at 1 p.m. and will be continued on Monday. Seats may be reserved. An advertisement appears in this issue. Takapuna Club The courts were opened by the Mayor. Mr. J. N. Williamson, who said that during the winter the club had benefited considerably by the efforts of the lady members, who had organised Bridge parties. As the president of the club he wished them every success in the coming year. Mrs. Williamson presented the prizes won during the last season. These were as follow: Ladies’ championship, Mrs. Cadness; ladies’ handicap singles, Miss Evans; ladies’ doubles, Mrs. Howe and Miss Evans; men’s championship, Mr. Parker; men’s handicap singles, Leo Whittaker; men’s doubles, Messrs. Gamble and Wilson; combined doubles, Mrs. Jacobi and Mr. Simmons; ladies’ American tournament, Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Beecroft: ladies’ Wednesday progressive play, Mrs. Martin.
