CHINESE FINED £2O
OVERSTAYED PERMIT Having stayed in New Zealand nearly a year longer than the terms of his temporary immigration permit allowed, Jong Hin, a Chinese, aged 31, 1 was fined £2O at the Police Court this morning. According to the Collector of Customs, Mr. J. Mclntosh, Jong’s permit had expired in December, 1927. Jong, who had not been working during his stay in the Dominion, had not been able to find sufficient money to pay his fare and leave the country. Default of payment fixed at three months and a deportation order was made.
