BEACH SUNSHINE
CROWDS AT NORTH SHORE DELIGHTS OF MILFORD The few hours of warm sunshine yesterday afternoon brought a throng of visitors to Milford and the North Shore beaches. Milford sands have had a tossing about by the winter storms and visitors were surprised to find thjit favourite nooks and comers had been buried feet deep by sand. An afternoon tide with a nice break enticed a couple of hundred bathers to sample the surf. The dance floor , was well patronised and curious folk thronged about tinfoundation work for the new “pirate ship dance pavilion.” Cheltenham Beach was well patronised and. being sheltered, provided a very comfortable recreation ground for sun-lovers. Swimmers were in evidence —many of them well-browned already. The Milford Surf Club was busy staging “run-outs,” a form of beach entertainment that attracts much interest. The newly-formed Takapun.Surf Club is preparing for an active season.
