Objection Raised to Milford Cabaret
MOTHERS’ LEAGUE PROTESTS “DEMORALISING INFLUENCE” That it would have a demoralising influence on the young folk of the community is the reason stated by the League of Mothers for its objection to the decision of the Takapuna Borough Council to license an “elaborate bathing and dancing establishment” on Milford Beach. A protest against such an innovation was made at the meeting of the Auckland Branch of the National Council of Women last evening, in the form of a remit from the League of Mothers. After considerable discussion it was decided that the council send a letter embodying the terms of the League's objections to the Takapuna Borough Council. At the next meeting of the executive a further letter to the Borough Council will be considered.
