NIAGARA’S CARGO SPACE
EXTRA FREEZER PROVIDED To increase her refrigerated cargo space the Royal Mail liner Niagara has had her No. 1 hold insulated and connected up with her refrigerating machinery. The work was done since the vessel was last in Auckland. It will give her 450 tons additional refrigerated cargo space. The work was planned and supervised by Mr. Scot Miller, naval architect to the Union Steam Ship Company. An exceptionally large quantity of refrigerated cargo, including over 23,000 boxes of butter, will be taken from Auckland by the Niagara when she sails for Vancouver to-morrow.
