FIRST RUNS OF SEASON

LABOUR DAY SPORTS ATHLETICS IN DOMAIN GOOD TIMES RECORDED Auckland runners and cyclists had their first big run of the season yesterday afternoon when the Labour I'av celebration sports were held in the 1 Domain. Ruin overnight made the track fairly heavy, but in spite of that j some good times were put up. King Country District High Schools’ annual sports held on the Te Kuiti Domain on Friday’. Tho schools competing were Otorohanga, Te Kuiti. Te Awamutu. Fio Pio and Taumarunui. The fixture proved a marked success, all tho arrangements for the meeting being carried out without a hitch At the conclusion of the sports, the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. Arnold Blackman, congratulated the organisers on the success of tho meeting, after which the headmaster of the Te Kuiti District High School, Mr. W. Smith, presented the various trophies. The points prize for the boys’ events resulted in a win for Otorohanga with 37 points, Te Kuiti. 13 points, second. For the girls’ events, Te Kuiti gained IS points and Otorohanga 10 points. WAIHI SPORTS POSTPONED (From Our Own Correspondent I WAIHI, Monday.
