ISLAND ORANGES DEAR
FIRST CALIFORNIAN GRAPES Small quantities of Californian grapes, the first of the ccasoq, will reach Auckland to-morrow, ex Wellington. A good demand is expected and regular shipments will follow. TSLAND oranges are in . light stock -*• and prices are rising. Lemons are easier. To-day, fair quantities of citrus fruits arrived from Sydney, and they will go on the benches by to-morrow. Repack bananas are in short supply and values are high. Apples are at last week’s rates, with a better demand for first-grade lines. Fruit sales are expected to be freer with the approach of warmer weather. All lines are well supplied in the vegetable market, with a keen demand The chief feature is the heavy quantities of cauliflower, which will be plentiful all the -week. Pears.—Nelis, repacks, 9s to 10s; Nelis, originals, 7s to 9s; Coles, Gs to Bs. Oranges.—lsland, repacks, 16s to ISs; Navels, 14s; Poorman, 4s to 6s. Mandarins.—Ex cool store, 13s to 16s. Lemons.—7s 6d to 12s. Bananas.—Repacks, 22s to 27s 6d. Tree Tomatoes. —6s to 12s. FIELD PRODUCE Vegetable Marrows.—ss to 7s a dozen. Cabbage.—On benches, 2s to 7s a doz. Cauliflower.—On benches, 3d to 9d each. Celery.—Gd to 6s 6d a bundle. Rhubarb.—3s to 6s a dozeii. Spinach.—ls 3d to Is 6d a dozen. Bumpkins.—On benches, Is 6d to 3s each. Cauliflower.—First grade, 6s to Ss Gd a sack; 2nd grade, 2s >6d to 4s 6d a sack. Swedes.—2s to 3s a bag.
Pumpkins.—Triumble best quality, 14s to 18s a cwt; others, 7s to 12s a cwt. Citron Melons.—ss to 6s a cwt. Beans.—2s to 3s a lb. Lettuce.—2s to 6s a case. Cucumbers.—ss to 8s a dozen.
