Insistent rumours are current In Havana to the effect that the Government of Canada proposes to retire its diplomatic representative in Cuba. This is said to be because of differences which have arisen out of Cuba’s refusal to endorse the proposed special concessions for Canadian interests under the projected commercial treaty."
No confirmation can be obtained in Ottawa of the suggestion that Canada is dissatisfied with the progress of the negotiations for a renewal of the trade agreement.
