“BABYLON TO BETHLEHEM”
LIMELIGHT LECTURE The inauguration of a winter course of limelight sermon-lectures is announced by the executive of the Auckland City Mission, entitled “Babylon to Bethlehem,” the romance of the ages. The instrument in use is called a diascope and i twill project either slides or ordinary pictures. The lectures will tell the romantic story of mankind from the primitive stages up to the present time. The address to-morrow evening in the Hippodrome Theatre will deal with Cyrus the Great, Darius, the fall of Babylon, etc. The lecturer will be the Bev. Jasper Calder, who has travelled in many of the countries dealt with and who is thoroughly familiar with his subject. The service begins at 7.30 p.m., and from 7 o’clock the orchestra under Mr. Burnnand will play selections.
