ROYAL SHOW JUDGES
APPOINTMENTS MADE The following judges have been appointed for the next Royal Show, which be held in Palmerston North on October 30, 31 and. November 1, Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday: John Bateman, Invercargill- (Milking Shorthorn cattle). A. M. Weir, Southland (Ayrshire cattle). Stewart Conochie, Queensland (Jersey cattle). C. d’ Auvergne, Waihao Forks (all breeds of pig’s). Hayward. Christchurch (trotters an d pacers, harness horses, cobs and Ponies). T. A. Stephens, Canterbury (Ryeland sheep). M. North (Omimi. Otago), and Brash (Waikiwi. Southland) have , een recommended *bv the New Zealand Friesian Association its joint Judges of Friesian cattle.
Nose-bag" is not a term reserved exclusively for the horse. Formerly was applied to a visitor to a house 1 refreshment, who brought IDs own an ? aslc ed for a glass of water uth which to wash it down. The reerence is, of course, to carrying the eea of the horse in a nose-bag to save expense.
