INJURED ON WHARF
COMPENSATION CLAIM MEDICAL MEN DIFFER As the result of an accident which befel him in the hold of the Niagara on January 17. 1928, Felix Ernest James, for whom Mr. J. J. Sullivan appeared, sought compensation from the Union Steam Ship Company. Ltd., in the Arbitration Court yesterday afternoon. It was alleged that James fell and * dislocated his shoulder and was still unfit for work. A feature of the ease was the marked conflict of medical opinion. Mr. K. U. Bugnall, for the defendant company, denied that there had any dislocation and alleged that plaintiff had been able to work since May 2. After long and varied medical evidence had been called by both sides Mr. Justice Frazer said the case had teft the minds of the court in a condition that might be described as “suspended doubt.” Rather than run the risk of an injustice they would prefer to have the opinion of a medical referee. Counsel agreed to nominate one. FALL IN WHARF SHED WORKMAN INJURED When he fell loft yesterday morning in a shed at Western Wharf. John Spencer Reid, a plumber employed by the Auckland Harbour Board, fractured his left ankle and received injuries to his back. Reid is a married man, aged 43, who lives at 23 Karaka [ Street, Newton. Me was taken to the I Auckland Hospital by the St. John i Ambulance. His condition is now J satisfactory*
