HAGEN BEATS COMPSTON
GOLF MATCH IN AMERICA (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) NEW YORK, Thursday. In the professional golf match over 72 holes between Hagen (America) and Compston (England), Hagen won by G up and 5 to play. The first 36 holes were played at Way land, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, when Compston led, 1 up. The second 36 holes were played to-day on the Westchester-Biltmore Club's course at Rye, Hew York State. Hagen finished brilliantly, and avenged his recent crushing defeat by Compston in England, and won the purse of £I,OOO.
