“TIT FOR TAT”
DRIVERS’ LICENCES
Apparently the fact that some local bodies with power to issue motor drivers’ licences have no officer capable of judging the efficiency of a driver*has not escaped the City Council. The council is proposing to point this position out to the Minister of of Public Works. It is a tit-for-tat step, the Minister having recently circularised local bodies, including the City Council, pointing out the steps which should be taken to ensure competency. The Chief Traffic Inspector's report to the council indicated that the tests made by the council officials were quite sufficiently egvere.
