Included in the number of men being retired by the City Council in order to keep within the estimates there will be one man of 70, who has been in the service of the council for 38 years, and another of 78, who has been employed for 21 years. They will be granted six and four months’ leave respectively before finally retiring.

A sum of £723, remaining out of a £15,000 loan for roading in the central ward of Avondale borough, is to be expended as follows: North Bo*4 £220, Layard Street £442, and CrsKHtoft Street £6l.
