WIFE'S INDEPENDENCE
OBJECTS TO MAINTENANCE
EARNING HER OWN LIVING Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The unusual action of a wife was mentioned in the Supreme Court today, when her counsel, Mr. Wanklyn, moved for an order revoking the maintenance payments by her husband in her favour. Mr. Wanklyn said that the wife had somewhat staggered him when* she told him she wished to have her maintenance discontinued, but she explained that she was making a very ,?ood income at hat-designing and dress-designing, while her husband was in destitution.
An order was made for the discon tinuance of maintenance.
