£1,500 FOR CHARITY
BEQUESTS TO AUCKLAND TWO INSTITUTIONS BENEFIT Two Hacritabte bequests to Auckland institutions have been made in the will of the late Mr. Thomas Kirkup, of Mount Albert, who died while on a visit to New-castle-on-Tyne, on April 16. 1927. A third bequest was made to the Dr. Barnardo Homes, London,
Under Mr. Kirkup’s will, the Anglican Orphan Home, Papatoetoe, and the Auckland Salvation Army Home, each receive £SOO, which has been paid to them by the Guardian Trust and Executors’ Company of New Zealand. The £ 500 bequeathed to the Rarnardo Homes will be forwarded to London. Mr."Kirkup, who was bom in New-castle-on-Tyne, came to New eZaland in search of health. He became interested. with Mr. J. Kenderdine. in a manufacturing business in Auckland. During the 1890 strike he was secretary of the Carters’ Union.
