RUGBY LEAGUE AFFAIRS

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League met last evening, M.r. G. Rhodes presiding. The claim for insurance of a Newton senior player caused a long discussion. It was stated that after notifying !#:s club secretary that no insurance was necessary, it was subsequently ascertained a small bone had been broken in his foot. Mr. F. W. Schramm said the player was honest in his intention not to incur any expense to the league. The chairman of the insurance committee, Mr. H. Soloman, said the rules governing the claim had not been fulfilled and it was eventually decided to refer the claim back to the insurance committee for a report. The Onehunga Borough Council advised that it was regretted no playing ground could b e provided at the Onehunga Reserve this season.
