IRISH LITERATURE
Sir, — A , few . years ago I suggested the growing importance of an Irish society which wolud keep in touch with the new Irish literary movement which has been well defined by Roleston as “The impulse to seek for Irish themes, to treat the history, scenery, legendary literature and current life of our country with the ennobling touch and the revealing insight of posting; in general I”, express the Irish imagination in an Irish way.” Sir Samuel Ferguson not only achieved success in this field, but also carried the Gaelic spirit from his translations into his works in a manner that makes a fresh departure in Irish poetry. Can we not do something in this new land to show that we appreciate the noble work done by Irishmen in the arena of real Irish literature? CLAX-CONAL.
