At Manchester, in the British women’s championship, the South African Olympic representative, Miss Clarke, won the 100yds hurdles in 13 4-ssec, a world’s record. The Japanese Olympic representative, Khitomi, won the 220yds, beating the world record heat of 25 4-ssec. Miss Gunn, the British long jumper, jumped 18ft 7!in, a world’s record: A Paris message says Seraphim Martin won the 800 metres French championship in 1.50 3-5, a world’s record. A Press Association message from Wellington says, the Olympic Council has received advice that in the British women’s championship, Miss Norma Wilson, New Zealand Olympic representative, won her heat in the 3 00yds in 11 4-ss. She was unplaced in the final of 11 3-ss: but she was c ? ose up to the English girls, Misses Gunn, Ridgley and Thompson, who were placed. NEW ZEALAND BOWLERS The New Zealand bowlers were defeated by Lanarkshire by 121 points t% 112. The New Zealand skips’ scores were: Carson, 12 to 29; Grant, 18 to 17; Hutchinson, 27 to 15; Moffatt, 19 to 24; Hill, 23 to 19; Parker, 13 to 26. PEARCE WINS SCULLS At Kingston Regatta the. Australian, Pearce, easily won the Senior Sculls (seven furlongs) in 4min 40sec. Guyp was second. ETON WINS AT CRICKET At cricket, Eton made 415 for eight wickets and declared (Akers and Douglas 18 each, Sheepshanks 69, Delisle 67). Harrow made 279 (Lindsay 68). Bowling, Hazelrigg took five for 73. Eton won by 28 runs.
